Pandora: New Tales of the Vampires
by: Anne Rice

Anne Rice, creator of the Vampire Lestat, the Mayfair witches and the amazing worlds they inhabit, now gives us the first in a new series of novels linked together by the fledgling vampire David Talbot, who has set out to become a chronicler of his fellow Undead.<br><br>The novel opens in present-day Paris in a crowded cafĂ©, where David meets Pandora. She is two thousand years old, a Child of the Millennia, the first vampire ever made by the great Marius. David persuades her to tell the story of her life. <br><br>Pandora begins, reluctantly at first and then with increasing passion, to recount her mesmerizing tale, which takes us through the ages, from Imperial Rome to eighteenth-century France to twentieth-century Paris and New Orleans. She carries us back to her mortal girlhood in the world of Caesar Augustus, a world chronicled by Ovid and Petronius. This is where Pandora meets and falls in love with the handsome, charismatic, lighthearted, still-mortal Marius. This is the Rome she is forced to flee in fear of assassination by conspirators plotting to take over the city. And we follow her to the exotic port of Antioch, where she is destined to be reunited with Marius, now immortal and haunted by his vampire nature, who will bestow on her the Dark Gift as they set out on the fraught and fantastic adventure of their two turbulent centuries together.

Belinda
by: Anne Rice , Anne Rampling

"Who was she?" That was the first thought that came into my mind when I saw her in the bookstore.<br><br>Who was she really?<br><br>She's Belinda. She's sixteen years old. She's the object of one man's ultimate fantasy. And she's one of the most "uniquely sensual and provocative" heroines to emerge from the "fearless" imagination of <i>New York Times</i> bestselling author Anne Rice.<br><br>"Call her the It Girl of contemporary fiction. Whatever the venue, she's never too squeamish to reach out and touch it."-<i>Rolling Stone</i><br><br>"Her voluptuous prose draws readers into an erotic landscape where the sensual delights are dark-edged...and utterly compelling."-<i>Village Voice</i>"A wry and richly textured diary of 'forbidden love.' A compelling blend of mystery and romance."-<i>Kirkus Reviews</i><br><br>"Easily one of the most natural storytellers on the modern scene... Belinda is certainly her most controversial to date."-<i>San Francisco Chronicle</i>

Out of the Night (Night Slayer, Book 1)
by: Robin T. Popp

Lanie Weber isn't afraid of danger. As a volunteer firefighter, this seemingly mild-mannered librarian has faced life-or-death situations before--and survived. But she has no idea what's waiting for her in the dark Amazon jungles...in the staring eyes of a mysterious statue...and in the strong arms of a seductive stranger. Veteran pilot Mac Knight has vowed to help Lanie find out what has happened to her scientist father. But at Dr. Weber's secret research lab, they find only five dead bodies--and a creature believed to live solely in legends. The nightmare, however, is real. When Mac is attacked and bitten, Lanie fights to keep him alive. When he presses his lips to her throat, she yields to his touch. And when his teeth graze her flesh, she hungers for more...

Fearless (Angel)
by: Doranna Durgin

Even if it takes an eternity, he will make amends....

PRETTY POISON

The gang at Angel Investigations is well versed in the nuances of demon fighting. So they're surprised to find themselves euphorically giddy after a long night of...what? Their clothes are torn and bloody and their bodies are battered, but their memories of the previous evening are hazy at best. Research determines that they've been doused with demon pixie dust that helps them to heal.

Angel, however, is having the opposite post-battle experience. After years of superhuman healing, he's suddenly recovering from a fight with the resilience -- or lack thereof -- of an average human being. Shaken and reluctant to confide in his friends, Angel is reduced to secret-keeping and collaboration with newfound demon cohorts. If the gang goes in search of their next fix of fearless, will Angel be strong enough to protect them?
